Lai Mohammed
Mohammed is a businessman and served as the Chairman of Optmedia Limited, a subsidiary of Afromedia PLC since 18 December 2008. He served as a Director of Afromedia PLC since May 2011. Alhaji Mohammed is also a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and worked as Public Relations Officer for almost 10 years with the Nigerian Airport Authority, now Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)
Prince (Dr.) Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon
Prince (Dr.) Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon, is of the
Sogbulu and Ogunfayo lineage of Laarun ruling house
of Ake in Abeokuta, Ogun State of Nigeria. He is
widely recognized for his significant contributions in
boardroom management, marketing, investment, law,
and engineering practices. He is a great grandson,
through the father of his paternal grandmother, the first
lawyer in Nigeria, by name: Christopher Alexander
Shapara – Williams. With his versatile professional
qualifications in Engineering (UI), Law (Unilag and
Law School), Business Administration–MBA
(UNIFE), Stockbroking and Finance, he within three years, of his post graduate
degree at UNIFE, became the executive director of marketing of the ETEX
Group of Belgium in Nigerite (Nig) Ltd, at 31 years of age, and has served on
many statutory boards, starting from OGBC & OGTV at the age of 37. Notably,
he was chairman of Ogun state Gateway Tourism Corporation, where he
pioneered the redevelopment of Olumo Rock in Abeokuta. He served in the
Presidency, of President Ebele Jonathan as a member of the National
Heritage Commission and Endowment for the Arts, served President
Buhari, as the sole representative of the South-West in the National Honours
Awards Committee, and he is also currently still serving, the government of
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in that capacity.
Karl Hala
Karl Hala is one of the most distinguished icons of the hospitality business. With over 50
years of experience, his career spans Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Europe.
Today, he leads as Group General Manager of Continental Hotels Nigeria, combining a rich
global portfolio with a passion for excellence.
His impeccable journey began with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in 1977, followed by
significant postings in Vienna, Amman, Nairobi, Lusaka, Beograd , Kingston Jamaica,
Budapest , Warsaw, Addis Ababa, Lagos, and Abuja. Over the years, Karl has operated at
every level of hospitality management, consistently delivering premium services marked by
detail, professionalism, and innovation.
Since 2008, his influence has reshaped African hospitality, earning him the title Africa’s
Hospitality Guru. Beyond operational excellence, Karl has become a bridge linking African
hospitality to the global stage — showcasing and advocating for tourism, culture, and youth
empowerment.
He was recently named Hotel Manager of the Year 2024 by ATQ News/Travellers Magazine.
The recognition celebrates his excellent leadership in managing hotel operations across
Lagos and Abuja, his strategic development plans, and his commitment to staff training and
capacity building in Nigeria’s hospitality sector.
Dr. Iyadunni Atinuke Gbadebo
Dr. Iyadunni Atinuke Gbadebo is a transformational business leader. She is Director, Sales and Marketing at Eko Hotels & Suites, Nigeria’s flagship corporate hospitality brand. Since assuming this role in 2011, she has architected groundbreaking revenue-generation models — including the iconic Tropical Christmas Wonderland, Theatre @ Eko Hotels, Hakuna Matata Theme Park and so much more, which have grown to become signature experiences in West Africa’s hospitality landscape. She leads a dynamic team of professionals, driving sales, marketing, branding, ideation, curation, promotions, and large-scale event management across the hotel’s 825 rooms, 11 restaurants, and world-class facilities.
With over two decades of executive experience, Dr. Gbadebo epitomizes strategic vision, commercial excellence, and creative innovation. She launched her career as a Business Development Manager at OJ&T Limited, spearheading advertising sales for CNN across African markets — a role in which her inventive client strategies and relationship-building significantly boosted revenue and positioned her as a rising force in media marketing.
She went on to become National Sales Manager for North American Airlines, where she drove market expansion, forged strategic alliances with multinational corporations, and engineered initiatives that grew ticket sales across critical sectors including oil and gas, embassies, and government. Later, as Commercial Director at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, she oversaw business development and revenue generation for Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2, managing non-aeronautic revenue streams and strengthening the terminal’s brand positioning.
